GLOBAL ACELERATORS

Smart Water Accelerator

In 2015 LatIPnet in partnership with the Fundacion Universitaria de Las Palmas created the Smart Water Accelerator Program. The Program, offers global entrepreneurs and innovators in water technology the opportunity to move from the lab to field testing and to reach their first customers and partners. We fund each project with 100k euros and charge 10k euros in program fees, thus providing a net funding of 90k euros as a conditional loan. The program fees serve to provide coaching and basic support including co-working space, accounting and administrative services for up to 8 months. The company will repay the conditional loan from revenue generated upon successful commercialization. If the company is not successful, the loan is forgiven. Smart Water is a non-for-profit service for entrepreneurs and does not take equity in the company. The company is free to directly negotiate agreements involving equity and fees with its mentors, advisers and consultants. We have established agreements with the leading water companies that will be providing testing facilities to hosted companies for a wide range of the water technologies:

• Reverse Osmosis
• Electrodialysis
• Vapor Compression
• Multi Effect Distillation and Waste Water Treatments.

Brinergy, the first company hosted in the Accelerator, has already established agreements with some leading desalination facilities and a large hotel chain to provide them with innovative water technology that is currently co-developing and testing with leading global partners using technologies generated at Stanford University, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, NASA and some emerging water technologies companies from Silicon Valley.

Smart Space Accelerator

The Smart Space Acceleration Program has been launched in March 2015 and offers global entrepreneurs and innovators in space technology the opportunity to move their projects from the lab to field-testing and to reach their first customers and partners. The Program has been established by LatIPnet in collaboration with the Fundacion General Universidad de La Laguna. Smart Space works with startups or individual entrepreneurs to build their pilot tests, to acquire beta and/or first customers and to execute their first sales. We help founders deal with strategic partners, initial customers, investors and acquirers. We fund each project with 100k euros and charge 10k euros in program fees, thus providing a net funding of 90k euros as a conditional loan. The program fees serve to provide coaching and basic support including co-working space, accounting and administrative services for up to 8 months. We established agreements with the leading institutes and universities in Canary Islands. They offer first-class optics, electronics and mechanical facilities covering the needs for a wide range of space technologies. Cost for using these facilities and for hiring required staff is substantially lower than market prices for participating companies. We also provide access to last generation mechanical design, prototyping and rapid manufacturing capabilities in the islands at very competitive price, both in metal and biopolymers: milling machines, laser cutting and welding machines, electron beam melting machine, optical scanner for reverse engineering, advance superficial treatment equipment, electrospinning machine etc.
